The Wyckomar UV-Solar-250 system is designed to supply up to 5 gallons per minute (GPM) of safe, filtered and disinfected drinking water for normal household use and can be operated almost anywhere. The only requirement is some sunlight, which is used to recharge the battery via the solar collection panel. The system can also run at night when it draws power from the on board battery pack.

This unit is even more effective when used in conjunction with a storage system, as it can produce purified water at up to 5 GPM for four continuous hours, depending on the amount of sunlight that is available.

The UV-Solar-250 system is equipped with a pump to draw source water into the disinfection system. The water is then filtered through both sediment and carbon filters prior to being introduced to the UV reaction chamber where complete destruction of bacterial and viral contaminants takes place. The treated water is then available for storage or it may be consumed directly from the system.

Water disinfection via UV treatment is one of the most popular methods of obtaining clean, safe drinking water due to it’s efficiency in killing disease causing pathogens and it’s environmental friendly nature. UV adds nothing to the water being treated and produces no undesirable byproducts of disinfection, as is the case with most chemical disinfection technologies.
